I am participating in Fill In The Blank Friday from The Little Things We Do. I read her Fill In the Blank Friday post every week, but once the topic of magazines came up, I knew I had to join in.
1. If I could only read one magazine publication for the rest of eternity, I would choose Real Simple. From the organizational and creative aspect to the concept of a clean, well rounded lifestyle to the feel of the paper, this magazine is perfection.
2. If I were to run my own magazine it would include fitness tips, motivational, positive thoughts, inexpensive fashion ideas, organizational solutions, quick & easy recipes, and travel excerpts on adorably, quaint domestic & international towns. Most importantly, I would have my magazine help aid children who are born in poverty stricken countries.
3. I buy my magazines (at the grocery check stand or via subscription) strictly through subscription. The prices are 1/4 or more cheaper per issue if purchased through a subscription, and I love getting magazines in the mail each month. If there is a magazine that I don't have a subscription to, I will spend a few hours once a month in the bookstore browsing my favorites (including gossip magazines). haha!! Confession: I will not throw a magazine in the recycling bin until I have gone through it and pulled out anything I would like to keep, especially recipes! You can imagine this leads to a hefty stack of magazines awaiting my attention.
4. I prefer my magazines (in print or online)in print, no doubt. For the same reason I refuse to purchase a Kindle or Nook, I love the feel & turning of the pages. I do love the online magazine Southern Flourish, but with just a few issues each year, I can handle the online version. If something in a magazine is beautiful or catches my attention, I love to have the ability to tear it out & keep it. Online magazines don't allow me to do that!
5. The number of magazines I buy each month is zero, unless you include subscriptions. I only have 3 subscriptions right now because I decided to not renew a few, even though I enjoy them (saving a few bucks & spending more hours at the book store!).
6. My favorite magazine genre is (lifestyle, gossip, home, etc...) home, fitness, and woman focused.
7. The magazines I read regularly are Cooking Light, Fitness, Runners World, Redbook, Women's Day, Real Simple, Shape, Self, Money, & US Weekly (guilty pleasure).
What about you? Anyone up for an afternoon/evening at the book store to catch up on the latest mags? Sounds amazing right about now ....
