August Weekend Round Up: Part 3

Can you believe it? After all of that, there is still more to my August. I told you, I have been busy!!!!

I finally was able to travel back down to Richmond to visit one of my favorite friends, Krits Cup O Tea. Her and her husband are the cutest couple, and they sure do know how to throw a party. These are just a few from the great night!! Oh how I love their family ...

Last Thursday I had the honor of working side by side with E at the Washington Redskins Welcome Home Luncheon. This is an annual event put on by the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation that hosts the entire team, coaches, staff and fans. I was unable to take pictures of the event or with any of the players, but E TOTALLY hooked me up. My duties for the day included keeping all of the players in line while they were introduced (yes, this meant that I stood in the hallway with the entire team / coaches and naturally, chatted it up with a few of my favorites), and I assisted with the live auction (where I naturally had to float by all of the players who were throughout the ballroom). It was a really neat event that I hope I am able to be a part of for many more years to come!! What a great way to pump me up for the season. Like I said before, I was unable to take pictures during the event, but here are two that were snapped during set-up.

And after the event was over, all of the volunteers were served the same meal as served at the Luncheon. Check out the creative dessert plate that each guest enjoyed!! (thats a chocolate helmet in the back, with raspberries and chocolate mousse inside. It does look a bit like a skeleton head though ... haha!)

Last Saturday, the boy and I wanted to do something different. We always talk about how we need to take advantage of our cities, so why not enjoy the National Zoo? I made a huge deal about how I think pictures of the zoo are pointless. I mean, what do you really do with pictures from the zoo? Frame them? Probably not. Show your friends? Probably not. Go back, years later, and look at them again? Probably not. Therefore, my camera was tucked away for most of the trip ... until we saw the lions/tigers, and then I could not resist. Look at how gorgeous these monsters are?? (I think I have a mini-monster at my parents house .. what do you think?)

The weekend ended with a really fun girls night (the pictures are way too sweaty to share due to our Euro dance party and too much laughter), and a Sunday Funday celebrating a birthday. Although I can't believe it is September, after the August I just had, I can't wait to see what is in store for me!!!!
