My Poor E

Aint she a beaut? Ahh. I had a pretty big scare this past Saturday night from E. She texted and told me that she had been in an ATV accident and was banged up pretty bad. At the time, I could not get my hands around how bad she had been hurt, but after hearing her stories, her inability to do simple things, and the doctors reactions ... I am so sad for her. She was riding on the back of an ATV and it flipped. The driver tried to dodge it out of the way from her, but part of the ATV still hit her. She has cuts, scrapes, punctures and very, very bad bruises. She believes she has broken bones in her hand, but she could not find out because the doctor told her he had already done the maximum amount of X-Ray's her body could handle. With her backpacking trip to Europe only 12 days away, the panic is beginning to set in. She vows to never do anything that takes her off of her feet again, which is so unlike her that it breaks my heart. She is adventurous and daring. She has always been my motivator to get out there and try new things!! I know that this accident happened to teach her and us all a valuable life lesson. We are all thankful that she is alive, and not injured as bad as she could have been. Of course in her light spirited ways she told me "well, at least I didn't break a nail or mess up my pedicure!!!". She did manage to cover an adorable Anthro shirt in blood and have her favorite J Crew sandals go flying down the mountain side never to be retrieved. Poor thing!!!! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, not only now, but on her adventure to Europe.
