Yea, that pretty much sums it up. I really can't believe I am the big 2-9. Of course, all anyone can say when I tell them my age is some comment about turning 30. One year at a time here folks.
Yesterday I figured out how I feel about turning 29. Something along the lines of "I am young enough to still L-O-V-E my birthday and everything that birthdays bring, but old enough to comprehend how fast the years are flying by and wish time would just slow down".
Last year I gave up the big "birthday party" hoopla and I am doing the same again this year. Truth be told, the plans that have formed are much better than one big party. It is more like 4 small parties. I am looking forward to kicking off my 30th year with my favorite people, lots of smiles, and a new set of goals.
What would be a birthday wish from mom without mention of a horoscope? In my neck of the woods, those don't exist. So, here we go:
For those of us born on May 9:
"Happy birthday! This looks to be a very lucky and profitable year for you. Be calm and cheerful - refuse to let anyone or anything make you nervous or anxious. You might be bitten by some nervous creative energy in the summer. Do something brilliant and fun with it. You have friends, enough money, and the chance to see an increase in both, especially in June and October. Take good care of your health, be active, and eat well. You deserve it. Some social fantasy could amuse you in March. Enjoy a quiet but still intense end of year!"
PS! My dad was in charge of the cake and candle. Not only did he take a bite out of the bottom of the cake before serving, he chose a votive candle since he couldn't find a birthday candle. Gosh, I love him.
