30 before 30

Are you loving these posts with pictures of just me? I knew you were so here's another one for ya!

A few months ago the thought of turning 30 started to settle in.  Not because I think 30 is old, but because it is the end of one decade, and the start of another.  Instead of making this last year in my 20's a sad story, I have decided it will be the perfect time to start or finish some of those "to do's" that have been pending for quite some time.  I have seen the "30 before 30" lists around the blogosphere, and instead of giving myself years to complete a daunting wish list, I have formulated an exciting, challenging, thank-goodness-I-finally-did-it list for myself that I intend to work through over the next 12 months.  For a checklist girl like myself, this excites me and I fully intend of making it through each one.

In no particular order
1. Play a round of golf // Spend time at the driving range
2. Bake homemade cupcakes and frosting
3. Learn how to invest my 401(k) contributions strategically
4. Run a marathon
5. Visit 3 U.S. cities on my bucket list
6. Buy myself a nice piece of jewelry to mark this special occasion
7. Learn how to use my DSLR camera
8. Sell or donate un-worn bridesmaid dresses (final tangible remnant of engagement)
9. Create a cookbook of favorite family recipes
10. Try food from at least 3 DC food trucks
11. Learn and practice to not take myself so seriously (noone else does!)
12. Buy a designer pair of jeans
13. Paint my bedroom dresser
14. Create a "What I learned in my 20's" list
15. Visit (at least) 3 unseen DC hot spots (Library of Congress, Capitol tour, etc)
16. International travel - have plan in place for an upcoming trip
17. Believe "I am enough"
18. Buy new suit(s)
19. Buy a bike // Go for a bike ride
20. Cook one recipe from each cookbook I own
21. Post more on my blog than not
22. Develop a daily devotional routine
23. Read at least 10 books
24. Visit my college town
25. Find an effective skin care regimen
26. Make a photo album of favorite photos from my 20's
27. Complete recipe binder
28. Document my "lova-skapades" from my 20's for future entertainment
29. Join a small group or book club
30. Buy a pair of cowboy boots

What do you think? Ready. Set. Go!
